We believe the furniture you live with should outlast you. It should be made properly, from honest materials, by people who take pride in their work.
LuxDecors was established in 2016 by James Whitford, a furniture restorer who spent fifteen years bringing damaged antiques back to life. Through that work, he developed a deep appreciation for the difference between furniture built to last and furniture built to sell.
The business began as a personal curation, sourcing exceptional contemporary pieces for private clients who shared his standards. Word spread, the client list grew, and LuxDecors evolved into a curated showroom and styling consultancy serving homes across the UK.
We work directly with a small number of workshops in Italy, Portugal, Denmark and the UK. No middlemen, no mass production. We visit every workshop personally and understand exactly how each piece is constructed.
Solid hardwoods only, never veneered particleboard. Full-grain leather, not bonded. Natural stone, hand-selected for veining. Every material must age well, because the pieces we sell are meant to be kept for decades.
We avoid anything overly of-the-moment. Our collection favours clean proportions, considered details, and finishes that develop character with use. The goal is that a piece purchased today still feels right in twenty years.
Our London showroom operates by appointment only. It's not a conventional retail space; rather, it's arranged as a series of room vignettes that allow you to see pieces in context, surrounded by complementary items and proper lighting.
We find that clients make better decisions when they can sit on a sofa rather than looking at it behind a rope, or run their hand across a tabletop rather than studying a photograph. Appointments typically last an hour and include an informal consultation at no charge.
Book an AppointmentAll pieces are delivered by our own two-man team, never a third-party courier. We handle placement, assembly (where required), and removal of all packaging. For larger installations, we coordinate with your interior designer or builder to ensure seamless timing.
Lead times vary by piece. Stock items ship within two weeks; bespoke orders typically require eight to twelve weeks depending on the workshop and materials involved.
